'People are intimidated' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal have become the squad everyone fears.

It's obvious why Arsenal stand as many people's favorites to secure the Premier League during this term.

Consider their performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace compared to those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them during this campaign, but dropped 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Defensive Strength

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are looking well positioned to at last realize their title ambition.

They stand first for clean sheets (6), goals allowed (3), attempts against (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the finest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Superiority

Their threat from set-pieces is well known, but opposition teams still struggle to neutralize the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just wary of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Credentials

What is particularly remarkable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City at home - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they maintain victories, their long-standing opponents face difficulties. This marks the first time at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on boss Mikel Arteta at the start, having allocated around £250m on eight summer signings in pursuit of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the business has so far proven successful in style, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and possessing the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three straight Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without conceding a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across various contests

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now operating with belief and purpose.
