The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season presents a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
