The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the struggle between faith and wealth, the winner is obvious for materialism in Showalter's delightfully tacky biopic regarding the shamed TV preacher and her felon spouse. The actor portrays the corrupt Bakker, who declares initially, claiming divine approval for wealth. Both individuals commence capitalizing on the people's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of tacky decor, excessive cosmetics and insincerity, yet Jessica Chastain succeeds to show the real-life figure as a sympathetic figure. Tuesday 14 October, late night, on Film4
